All Howls Eve

Hiccup’s House

Antelope, California

Tuesday, October 30th; 2:00 p.m.

It was the day before Halloween, children were getting anxious to go trick-or-treating, while some families got their houses prepped for parties. Renamon had never been trick-or-treating before; so this year, Hiccup was going to take her around his neighborhood so she could have the experience of trick-or-treating.

“Don’t we need Costumes?” Renamon asked.

“Nah! Besides, I don’t think they have any costumes that would suit you.” Hiccup responded.

Hiccup began looking at the map of his residential are to plan a course on his phone, when his vision started to blur and turn blood red. He heard a high pitched noise in his head, and couldn’t hear anything, until Renamon snapped him out of the trance saying “HICCUP!! Are you alright? You dozed off for a minute, and your eyes are bloodshot.”

“Huh? Oh, yeah sorry! I guess I just need some sleep.” Hiccup replied.

“Well, why don’t you go rest! I’ll help everyone with the rest of the decor!” Renamon suggested.

“Alright! You be careful, Okay Renamon!” he said while walking to his room.

“I will be! Rest easy Hiccup!” she replied.

~~Later~~

Tuesday, October 30th; 6:55 p.m.

Everyone had finished putting up all the decorations and were just finishing dinner. Hiccup’s Mother asked “Renamon, could you go check on Hiccup for me?”. Renamon replied, “Sure.”, and Hiccup’s Mother continued, “He usually doesn’t skip dinner like this.”

As soon as Renamon went down one step, there were sudden screams of pain and agony; like someone was being tortured by a drill through the torso! Renamon rushed to Hiccup’s room only to see what looked like a wolf on Hiccup’s floor and his clothes on his bed torn to shreds. The wolf looked back at Renamon and she began attacking the wolf.

She yelled “DIAMOND STORM!” before firing a barrage of explosive leaves straight at it. She somehow missed because the wolf panicked and jumped through the window and ran off. Everyone ran to see what had happened, only to see Renamon on her knees sobbing.

~~Later~~

At a nearby Park

Tuesday, October 30th; 7:30 p.m.

The sun had gone down half an hour ago, and the wolf had ran all the way to the park close to Hiccup’s house. “I knew she’d react that way if she saw me like this!” the wolf said. Apparently; when the sun went down, Hiccup didn’t scream because he was being eaten, he screamed because he was transforming. This transformation started at the beginning of the month; however, he had been hiding it from everyone else since it started.

“I should probably find a better place to hide, in case Renamon shows up and-!“ “DIAMOND STORM!” He was interrupted by Renamon trying to launch an attack on him. He quickly dodged; but, this time he didn’t run off, instead he stood his ground and got ready to pounce and hold her back to explain. She landed on the ground and glared at him, still assuming that the wolf she saw had killed him. “I’ll tear you stomach INSIDE OUT YOU MINDLESS BEAST!!!” she screamed ferociously. She leaped straight at him, while he stretched his arms at least 7 feet and pinned her down. His arms retracted and he stretched them onto the ground by Renamon’s sides, which allowed him to pull himself toward her.

Once he got close enough to stand above her, she screamed “POWER PAW!”, and tried to attack him. He quickly caught her attack with one hand and held her other arm down with his other hand. She struggled to break free until he said, “Renamon! RENAMON!! Relax! It’s me, Hiccup!”. She stopped and quickly looked at him, “Hiccup?” she said in a shocked voice! He let go of he paw and arm, then picked her up so she could stand. She immediately hugged him and began crying and said “I....I thought you were-“, “Dead? Far from it.” He continued.

~~Later~~

Back at Hiccup’s House

Tuesday, October 30th; 8:00 p.m.

Hiccup and Renamon had just gotten back, and they were in the middle of the cul-de-sac, when all of a sudden, Hiccup’s Father comes out with a rifle screaming “RENAMON, GET AWAY FROM IT!!”. Hiccup quickly stretched his arm, grabbed the rifle out of his Father’s hands, and gently set it down. He was just about to pull out his pistol when Hiccup’s Mother screamed “HONEY, WAIT!!”. He stopped. She then continued, “Didn’t that ability seem familiar in any way?”, he took a minute to think about it, then he remembered that the arm stretching ability was from a game that Hiccup owned, “Sonic Unleashed”!

After Hiccup explained everything, they began to wonder how they would deal with this. Hiccup’s Sister then asked, “Wait, you said that this transformation started at the beginning of the month, correct?” he nodded in agreement. She continued, “What if this ‘transformation’ thing will go away by the end of this month? It’s almost over, so you may not have to worry for much longer!”. He replied “Hey! Maybe you’re right! It won’t be long until it we find out; still, even if it doesn’t go away, it’ll still be useful! Who knows, I may actually gain the ability to turn it on and off on my command!”

“This still begs the question ‘how will people react to seeing you when they’re trick-or-treating?’” Hiccup’s Father asked. Hiccup replied “I’m not sure; but, it does give me a few ideas!”. Everyone looked at him curiously, then he went out front and everyone followed. He climbed onto the roof and said “I could swing down from here and greet everyone that comes by, like this...”, he then proceeded to swing down from a pole sticking outward below the window of his parents bedroom, and landed near the entryway where everyone was standing. He asked “what do you think?”, and everyone thought it would be a fun idea; but, his Mother asked “What were the other ideas?”, and he continued “The first of the other two ideas I had is a costume idea for Renamon; however, I’m gonna have to buy the costume tomorrow, because the mall isn’t open and they won’t allow dogs!”

~~The Next Night~~

Hiccup’s House

Antelope, California

Wednesday, October 31st; 7:00 p.m.

It was Halloween night, and the kids through out the neighborhood were just now beginning their trick-or-treating trip. A few kids and their parents came around Hiccup’s Home, unaware that Hiccup was on top of the roof; the kids went to the front door, rang the doorbell, and said “trick-or-treat!”. Renamon opened the door, she was wearing a red hoodie and a pair of custom made blue jeans that Hiccup made to fit her specifically. The costume she was wearing symbolized a modern day little red riding hood, she said to the kids “Well, hello there! Go ahead and take one piece!”. They each took one piece of candy, then Renamon asked “Oh, have you heard any howling lately?”. They all shook their heads “no”, and she then said “Oh dear! You should be careful, there’s a wolf out tonight, and he’s...”

*THUD*!!!

All the kids turned around quickly to see what made the sudden noise. Hiccup looked at them with the face of a savage beast and snarled, they all went over to Renamon for protection. Hiccup stood on his hind legs and began laughing, the faces of the kids were pure terror. Hiccup then said “Hehehehe! Oh *coughs* great job Renamon! That was fun!”, then gave her a thumbs up. The kids recognized the Werehog and went over to hug him; when the got to him, he playfully, and carefully, picked them up and lined them up on his arms. He walked over to their parents, set them down, and the walked over to the next house; as they did, Hiccup said “Happy Halloween!”, then stretched his arm an went back onto the roof. They did this all Halloween night until the kids in the neighborhood either finished trick-or-treating, or got tired and went home. Once the neighborhood became silent, everyone in the house got ready for bed, Renamon took off the costume in their room while Hiccup brushed his Werehog teeth in the bathroom next to the room.

“Well, we may not have been able to go trick-or-treating like I had hoped; but, at least we got to have some fun messing around with the kids! Right?” said Hiccup as he entered the room.

“Indeed we did! I’m really impressed with that idea you had, especially how well it played out!” Renamon replied.

They got into bed and Renamon snuggled up to Hiccup’s fuzzy chest. She then said “it’s midnight!”, then asked “Shouldn’t you be reverting back by now?”. Hiccup looked at his arms, then looked at her and said “I guess this is a permanent thing now! Hopefully I’ll learn how to turn it off and on when I want to!”. Renamon then said “Don’t turn it off now!”

“Why not?” he asked.

“Because, your fur is so warm and comfortable. I’d like to fall asleep like this, if you don’t mind.” she said.

“Not for the world!” he replied.

They gave each other a kiss before falling asleep. The two had each other in their arms, and a smile on both of their faces as they fell asleep.
